About The Artist
Jesse Berlin has been an avid sculptor from early childhood. In 2004 he received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he specialized in highly detailed figurative sculpture. During this period he found employment at the International Museum of Surgical Science as curator of the Anatomy in the Gallery exhibit: A rotating exhibit of medically themed, contemporary artwork. Upon graduating from SAIC, Jesse was recruited into the Maxillofacial Prosthetic Technician training program at the Bronx Veterans Administration Medical Center in conjunction with Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York where he learned to make highly realistic facial prosthetics and dentures. In 2013 Jesse received an MFA in Sculpture from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He now resides in his hometown of Tucson Arizona where he continues to produce visually arresting works of art that deal with the physicality of the human condition.
